UNC Chapel Hill Development Office

The UNC Chapel Hill Development Office building is located on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, NC. The building was originally built in the 90's and designed for two retail spaces. Later, the building was purchased by UNC and currently houses their Development Office, which is in charge of fundraising and donor support for the university. The building was in desperate need of a face-lift to both make the interior space work for the department and to create the high-end look necessary to entertain and attract donors. We provided architectural and interior design services for the four-story 22,000 square- foot project, which included provisions for additional development office staff, new systems furniture, upgraded mechanical and electrical equipment, and accessibility upgrades. Our design process focused on deploying appropriate workplace strategies that integrate opportunities for collaboration, mobility, and flexibility, as the department's staff grows.
